There is no universal count. Use a written cadence based on lead intent, business cycle, and customer signals. The sequence should continue until the lead connects, opts out, is disqualified, clearly declines, or moves into a longer term nurture stage.
Should I call every time? No. Phone, text, and email can work together when the customer has provided and permitted those channels.
How soon should the second attempt happen? Fresh leads often deserve more than one attempt on the first day, especially if the first call reached voicemail.
Should I leave voicemail every time? Usually not. Repeated identical voicemails create little value. Vary the purpose of contact.
What if the lead asks me to call next week? Honor the request and create a specific future task. Do not keep the hot lead cadence running.
What if the customer replies by text? Pause any scheduled messages that no longer make sense and move the lead into an active conversation state.
What if the number is wrong? Stop calling it. Use another valid contact method to verify information if available.
How do I know whether the cadence works? Measure contact by attempt number, response by channel, appointment rate, opt outs, and stale records with no next action.
When should I stop? Stop when the customer clearly asks you to, when the lead is definitively not a fit, or when the prospect moves into a different long term nurture process.
